| O manejo de plantas daninhas no meio agrícola gera prejuízos ao meio ambiente e gastos excessivos com o uso de herbicidas. Nesta situação há constante busca por meios alternativos de controle. Diante do exposto, objetivou-se com o presente trabalho avaliar o efeito alelopático do óleo essencial da alfavaca (Ocimum gratissimum) sobre a germinação e desenvolvimento de plântulas do capim braquiária (Urochloa brizantha ‘Piatã’). Foram utilizadas sementes viáveis de capim braquiária e óleo essencial (OE) de alfavaca nas concentrações 0; 0,05; 0,10; 0,15; 0,20 e 0,25%. | The objective of this work was to analyze and to describe the influence of aqueous extracts of S. terebinthifolius Raddi over achenes and the growth of seedlings of lettuce cv. ‘Branca de Boston’. The extract was acquired from plants collected in the campus of UFPel. The essays were accomplished at laboratory, and the concentrations were zero, 50 and 100% of aqueous extracts of leaves (vegetal fresh material, w/v). | Allelopathy is defined as the inhibitory or beneficial effect, direct or indirect, of one plant to another. Thus, it was conducted in the laboratory and under completely randomized design, a bioassay with the aim of evaluating the effect of aqueous extracts, obtained by infusion of dried leaves of oat (Avena sativa cv. IPR 126), pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan cv. Mandarin), ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and braquiaria (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu), on the germination, content of cellular protein and peroxidase activity of lettuce (Lactuca sativa). | The uncontrolled generation of organic waste causes the decrease of the life of landfills. Alternative treatment processes such as anaerobic digestion of organic wastes may be a viable alternative to disposal of such organic waste, and the use of this technology can still generate gains using biofertilizer in agriculture. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the anaerobic digestion of Ceasa vegetables wastes from Cascavel-PR by adding swine manure doses (inoculum) in order to reduce the volume of waste going to landfills. | The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of environment on the productive performance of arugula in different row spacings and plant spacing. The experiment was conducted in the spring, summer 2011 and in the autumn and winter 2012. The experiment design was a randomized complete block design with four replications in a 3x2 factorial design. | This study aimed to evaluate the spatial and temporal variability of chemical attributes of a Red Oxisoil due to the application of lime and potassium chloride in variable rate through the use of thematic maps. The study was conducted in the municipality of Terra Roxa, Paraná State, Brazil, in farm of 41.68 hectares, in which two samples were taken, the first held in 2010, prior to the application of the products, and the second in 2013. | Macassar bean (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) is no longer a culture only for family farmers and is now grown by medium and large producers in the North and Northeast regions, and also in countries of Africa and Asia, especially for its nutritional characteristics. The objective was to make a productive diagnosis of bean Macassar culture and meet some techniques used by bean producers in the municipality of Parari, Paraíba State, Brazil. | In order to seek new measures to protect plants against diseases, alternative agriculture through the use of medicinal plants has been much studied. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of rosemary extract, cloves, cinnamon, garlic and guaco, under different sterilization methods (water bath at 65 ºC for 1 hour, water bath at 85 ºC for 1 hour; Autoclaving at 110 ° C for 20 minutes and autoclaving at 120 ° C for 20 minutes) in the mycelial growth of M. phaseolina. | Em experimento a campo avaliou-se parcialmente o valor fertilizante do composto produzido a partir da usina de reciclagem da cidade de Marechal Cândido Rondon (PR), em um Latossolo Vermelho Eutroférrico (muito argiloso de fertilidade média a alta).
